Will I be working on medical technology if I major in biomedical engineering?

Saturday, February 20th, 2010

I know there is a degree in medical technology but i hear that is mostly for fixing tech at the hospital. Would biomedical engineering be useful for like inventing or researching in medical technology.
By medical technology i mean like CAT scans, monitors, xrays..etc

Biomedical engineers typically work on devices that need to be compatible with bodies – artificial joints, heart valve replacements, cancer drug carriers. Better prep for the work you are interested in would be either electronics engineering or a physics degree.
