How competitive are medical technology programs in hospitals and universities?

I just graduated last spring with a B.S. in biology. My overall GPA was a 3.25, which doesn’t seem good enough to get into any pharmacy or physician assistant schools. I was wondering how competitve the one year internship programs for med tech are. It seems like a good alternative to the overly popular PA and Pharm D programs.
